I wasn't planning on posting today, but Bryan's birthday is this week, and I like to do posts about special people on their special days. So, I couldn't leave out my hubby.
Well, what can I say about Bryan? First of all, his birthday cake of choice this year is a strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting. We'll be visiting his sister in Corpus Christi this week, so she's already ordered the cake for me.
I bought him an engraved watch box for his birthday because Bryan loves watches, and he needs a place to put his nice ones. Watches are his man-jewelry. One Christmas, I bought him a Movado watch. It certainly wasn't the most expensive one, but it made me happy to spoil him a bit.
Bryan is probably one of the most selfless people I know, most of the time. He's selfless in the way that he'll drop whatever he's doing to help someone, and while he likes nice things, he's able to let go of them. He just sold his very nice, very new car to help us quickly pay off some debt. He's always giving his things away to someone who needs them more. One of his cliches is "never invest in something that rusts." I think that's pretty wise.
I think my favorite quality about Bryan is his sense of humor. Sometimes, he's a little too boisterous for me, like when he tackles me over and over again when I'm trying to make the bed, or how he thinks that grabbing my boobs is an appropriate greeting, response to a question or act of penitence. But, aside from that, he's pretty entertaining to be around.
I don't think he knows this, but I actually try really hard to be funny around him. Bryan has the most beautiful laugh. When he really laughs, he throws his head back and just lets go from deep in his chest. I love the sound of that laugh.
Now, we'll both be 24. That means for a while, he can let up on the old-lady jokes, since I'm a whole three months older than him.
Happy birthday, baby. I love you.
