Oh joy, oh joy! It's almost Labor Day weekend!
Last night, I attended the last Summer's Fifth Night Concert at Utica Square with my parents and the Hughes. I got there very early, and claimed an enviable spot under a huge magnolia tree. We sipped wine from the very last bottle of wedding Pinot Grigio and shared desserts from Labruscoz. And I officially retired my summer purse. For me, the coming of September means FALL!!
Tonight, I'm attending a Collinsville (Bryan's Alma Mater) football game with my hubby and father-in-law. Saturday is farmers market day and Sunday is Pense family picnic day. I promised you the potato salad recipe, but I'm a slacker, so I'll have to give a full report on it next week.
So, you know how last year, all the cute little thirteen-year-olds in the world started wearing the little leggings/denim skirt/ballet flats combo? I was secretly jealous every time I saw it, because it was the first time in my life when I actually thought "Women my age should not wear that." Well, I'm pleased to report that I've seen a grown-up version popping up in catalogs: http://www.whitehouseblackmarket.com/store/home.asp?sourceid=EMC-8_30_07laborday&link=feature
Last night, I took the plunge and bought a pair of black leggings from WHBM. I also have a couple of cute, dressy tunics to pair with it, so one day soon, I'm going to debut the leggings/long tunic/cute black heels combo and feel young again. So there, skinny thirteen-year-olds.
Have a wonderful, wonderful weekend!!!!
