The star on the map is our house. Across the street from Coffee Creek Golf Course was where the tornado touched down. They set up a command post for the Red Cross in Mitch Park. I could look right over my fence and watch the people milling around all the emergency vehicles.
When the tornado started coming our way, sirens were going off everywhere. Bryan and I huddled in our laundry room, Tino wrapped up in a comforter between us. My intrepid (or foolish) husband kept running out to try and see the tornado out our back windows, and I kept yelling for him to come back to the safe room.
After the tornado touched down, golf ball-size hail started banging into our house. Tino thought the world was ending. Remarkably, there doesn't appear to be any hail damage to our roof.
We are so thankful the Lord kept us safe!
