Good Monday morning. I had a fun, full weekend. On Friday night, I picked up Louie after work. We had just settled in to watch The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, pizza and martinis in hand, when my husband decided that we should go glow bowling. We met Beth and Scott at the bowling alley for some games... and stayed until 1:30 am.
On Saturday, Bryan went golfing while Louie and I watched the Search for the Next PussyCat Doll marathon. Chelsea is my favorite. She already looks like a PussyCat Doll. Saturday evening, I made my coconut shrimp. It was a success! I ended up using Rachael Ray's recipe, so it was quick and easy.
On Sunday, things got really interesting. We took Louie home to my parents' house and then met Bryan's family at the lake to celebrate his brother's birthday. We went out on the water in shifts, and when it was our turn, the boat's transmission petered out. In the middle of the lake. They fiddled with the transmission for a while. They tried paddling, but there was only one paddle in the boat, so we didn't get very far. Finally, we gave up and started honking the horn and waving around our bright orange life vests. After an hour, a fishing boat came by and rescued us. Another hour later, we finally arrived back at the picnic site to find that the hamburgers had blown off the grill. So we ordered pizza.
As I was showering this morning, I noticed that my arms were itchy. And covered in big, swollen welts. Turns out a mosquito ate me for dinner.
