Today’s the big day! I’m headed to OKC this afternoon with Mom for the state competition. The competition isn’t until tomorrow, so tonight, we get to enjoy a little R&R and glue tulle on hats.

Tomorrow will be an early morning. I’m going to catch our team jazz and my ensemble, then hop into the PT (yes!!! I have it back as of last night) and head back to Tulsa for Hope for the Holidays, our benefit performance of The Nutcracker.

After Hope, I’m off to the Baucom family Christmas party. I learned an important lesson this year: don’t buy gifts for Bryan’s family in October. See, after I purchased gifts for everyone, the family decided to do a dirty Santa gift exchange (which they’ve done since I started dating Bryan… not sure why I forgot that). We decided to go ahead and give everyone their gifts because why not? And also because the Penses don’t really like gift exchanges and it didn’t seem fair to buy gifts for my siblings and not his.

Sheesh. That all sounds really complicated, but it hasn’t been that bad. I spread out the shopping over two months, remember?

And then on Sunday… I think I’m going to rest. I’ll have earned it!

Wish us luck at the competition!
