Agh! So much of my life is up in the air right now. I learned an important lesson about trusting God with my future shortly after graduating college- imagine having your quarter-life crisis in Wichita. With two roommates that are also have major quarter-life crises! Ugh.

Since then, I kind of roll along life with a vague optimism about the future that would drive a control freak crazy. I catch myself thinking this funny phrase that my Papa Doyle, a charismatic Pentecostal preacher, used to say about everything: Lord willing. Except when he said it, it was more like "Looooooord willin'." Are you coming to visit this month? Loooooooord willin'. Do you think it will rain tonight? Loooooord willin'. You get the picture.

So right now, I just have to repeat that to myself like a mantra, and remember that not only is God in control of the future, he wants what's best for me.

And I'll like it- loooooooord willin'.
