I have the good fortune of knowing a woman with one of the finest personal art collections in Tulsa. From admiring her varied collection of original art, I learned an important lesson- the particular art that moves you is a very personal thing. In a way, showing someone your art collection is a bit like letting them look in your underwear drawer. That person gets to see if you are a plain, white panties kind of girl, or if instead, you prefer lacey “cheekies” from Victoria’s Secret. You get my point, though- your preference in art reveals a lot about you.

And me? I adore Jack Vettriano. Ninety- nine percent of the time, he paints womanly, red-lipped brunettes. Some of his works are incredibly main stream, some are quite poignant and some are shockingly erotic. I’ll let you decide which type I prefer. And if you ever come to my house, maybe I’ll let you see.
