We had a busy weekend at the Baucom household! We went to Tulsa on Friday night to spend time with my family. The day was a bit crazy, and when Mom and I started making dinner, we had to move pretty quickly. And then I cut off my finger. Not really, but I sliced the top half of my nail/tip of my finger off while coarsely chopping parsley. It bled a lot and took me out of my position of sous chef to my mom. My dad kept running back into the bedroom saying "I'll take you to the emergency room, just let me get my shoes on!" And then Bryan would say "David, I don't think she needs stitches." We managed to still enjoy dinner- in fact, it was probably the most successful execution of the Father's Day Dinner so far, my finger tip excluded, of course.
Sunday morning, I was supposed to prepare my oft requested muffaletta finger sandwiches (ha!), but being impaired, I had to stand back and instruct Bryan instead. Before we attempted to cook, though, I had to have Bryan help me wash my hair. So picture (but not too detailed, please) Bryan and I in the kitchen, me naked as a jaybird, trying to towel off one-handed while instructing him on how to use the new food processor. It was really quite funny. He did a good job, and we made it to our picnic with my father-in-law on time.
And that folks, is all. Have a happy Monday!
