*On the way out of town, almost rear-ended someone. In the process of slamming my brakes, the cake, stored securely in its bakery box, flew into my seat and ended up looking like this.

*Managed to arrive at Turner Falls mostly in one piece.
*Thursday morning, waited in a line of cars for several hours to enter Turner Falls Park. The park was so full of people (of questionable citizenship), that by 11:00 am the park was at capacity and half the family could not enter. Packed up and left after a couple of hours.

*Tried another park in Sulphur, OK. Less crowded. Stayed for a few hours until it started to rain.
*Went back to cabins, where we grilled steaks, set off fireworks and had a lovely time until police arrived and said we were inside city limits and couldn't use fireworks. Meanwhile, snuck boxes of unused fireworks into our cabin to be set off later.

*Bryan's birthday on Saturday. Nephew falls off park bench and lands on head. During storage, home-made salsa took on water from the cooler and became as diluted as gazpacho. Tried to drain salsa with coffee pot and filters. Electric griddle stopped working during fajita making. Somehow, everyone gets fed. Served smooshed cake.

*After dinner, left to go outside of city limits to finish off fireworks. Ended up in hillbilly country. Almost hit by errant bottle rockets set off by aforementioned hillbillies. Police arrive shortly after and try to arrest Bryan's brother-in-law because a crazy meth-head in nearby trailer said he threatened to murder him. Almost get shot by crazy meth-head. Twenty minutes of twilight zone craziness later, drive back to cabins, head in and lock doors!
*Pack up and leave on Sunday with no plans of returning. We survived redneck 4th of July!
