Italian greyhounds are notorious for their hatred of cold weather. Tino is no exception. The last few days, he has alternated from any sunny spot on the carpet to under the comforter of our bed to his own bed by the fire place. Even if we don't put his bed by the fire place, he goes and stands in front of it as soon as we light the fire. So, we moved his bed, and that is where he spends his evenings. He gets so close to the fire that he is actually hot to touch! I guess he prefers being hot and toasty to cold and shivery.

Getting him to go potty outside in the snow has been another adventure. We have to carry him out to the grass and command him to go potty about three times, then he runs to the fence and does his business, meanwhile looking at us as if we are the ones purposefully freezing his little paws. Then he runs to the door and scratches to be let in. It's all very amusing.

The snow and ice has started melting away today. I was supposed to drive to Tulsa tomorrow for work, but they don't want me to risk driving in poor conditions. The good news is it's supposed to be in the 60s on Saturday. I haven't seen my family in more than a month! This may be the longest I've ever gone without seeing my mom and dad. It will be nice to finally make it up to Tulsa this weekend.

Stay warm!

Rufus can't stand going potty outside when it's cold and/or rainy, so it was definitely a struggle yesterday to get him to go out in the ice. The first time he stepped onto the grass, he immediately jumped off of it. It was hilarious. Then he started frantically running around looking for a spot that wasn't covered with ice. Eventually, I guess, he realized that it was all that way, and he copped a squat and ran back inside.

Luckily, the ice was melted by noon. :)
