This weekend, all the assorted Penses are getting together to celebrate Mom and Dad's 30th wedding anniversary. We've rented a cabin in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and we have plans to relax, cook, reminisce and enjoy each other's company.

I've been hard at work on a not-so-secret project for this weekend that has involved looking at lots and lots of family pictures. When I go through them, I alternate between laughing and crying, but mostly, I just want to go back and relive a few of the best of those days captured by the camera.

Like this one, where we are all carving a pumpkin together:

Or this one, where we are all about to go see The Nutcracker:

Or this day when we were all at the lake in Texas:

And even last Christmas, Will's first:

But we don't get to go back and relive the past and the future is not guaranteed. We only have now. I'm so thankful the Lord has blessed me with my beautiful, imperfect, silly, lovely family. I can't wait to celebrate Mom and Dad's legacy together this weekend.
