Almost six weeks since surgery! And I still haven't worn pants. Seriously, my abdomen has been alternately numb and tender in different places, making it uncomfortable to wear anything constricting. So I've worn sundresses to work and nightgowns around the house this whole time. Bryan hasn't minded that one bit! I think I'll give it one more week before attempting some capri pants at work.

I had surgery last Monday (my fourth in the last seven months just in case you're counting!) to remove my kidney stent. All went very smoothly and my surgeon said everything looked great inside. I worked two full days last week and I'm attempting four this week. Then, August will be upon us! I feel a teensy bit robbed of my usual summertime vigor, so in my household, we're pretending that August is July. Or something like that. Point is, now that neither of us are in school, summer lasts until Labor Day! So, we're going to hit the pool, grill and work on our tans.

I'm so thankful to be on the downhill slope of recovery and to have the energy and desire to some fun things. I'm looking forward to a visit in a couple of weeks from the Hughes family. I can't wait to love on Mia and Will! All my little blonde nieces and nephews are growing up so fast. I'd say it's about time to add some brunettes to the mix...
