An Adventure

March has been a lovely month! We had an early spring here in Oklahoma so I broke out the open-toed shoes and light cardigans last week.

Last weekend, Bryan and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary. We commemorated the occasion by dining at a fabulous restaurant, and earlier in the month, repainting, redecorating and refurnishing our master bedroom. It is now a peaceful, tranquil and romantic retreat.

Later this week, we will celebrate my 29th birthday with an Italian Festa with the whole Pense famiglia!

And in about three weeks, I'm off on a big adventure: after four months of physical therapy and escalated treatments for my chronic pain, IC and pelvic floor issues, I am going to visit a women's urology clinic in Michigan for a week-long diagnostic and therapeutic retreat. While I'm there, I'll meet with a team of practitioners who specialize in women's urological issues and see if there are any new, specialized treatment options available to me. I'll also have daily physical therapy treatments, massage, yoga and relaxation sessions.

This retreat is in many ways a last resort, albeit a nice, relaxing one. If the doctors there are unable to find better treatment options for me, it will be time for me to accept my medical challenges for the long-term and move on to pain management therapies.

I'm excited and nervous about going to a new hospital by myself, but I'm mostly just grateful for the opportunity. God has opened so many doors and guided my steps to get me to this very place.

Please keep me in your prayers the week of April 15-20th. I will post updates on my experience that week to my blog rather than Facebook due to my desire to maintain some privacy.

Ready for this new adventure!
