In an effort to look like I give a rat's behind about my appearance, I dried my hair this morning (instead of styling my customary summer waves), applied mascara and eyeshadow, and wore a shirt that makes my um, assets, look particularly perky. When I passed my boss in the hall at work, he grinned and in his Italian accent, said, "You are looking very..... happy today." Ha.
Have you ever noticed that people are generally very funny when they're on pain meds? Bryan and I had a really humerous conversation with my Daddy last night, in which he told Bryan to watch whatever he wanted on tv and help himself to the coffee... all from the comfort of his perch in bed. We couldn't help but grin. Other than some swelling and a little loopiness, my Dad seems to be fairing very well after his surgery.
Tonight is Kick Camp, or Lauren's and my ingenious plan to work on the whole high-kick thing before we're midway through football season. We've hired a former Highstepper/Rangerette prospect to come in and teach our girls the ropes of kicking fabulously. I have to admit that I am sorely out of practice, and our girls stare at us, puzzled when we tell them to push their battements, so we figured that this approach might be more successful. So, here's hoping this goes well!
Praise the Lord, it's almost Friday. Although, tomorrow is Friday the 13th.....

I love the kick camp idea - awesome!!!! You 2 are simply fabulous. I hope it goes well and that it just "clicks" with the girls. Have fun!
Reading your blog makes me miss drill team so much! I hope your kick camp goes well:)
I had completely forgotten about the word battements. Oh, God. I can already feel the nightmares coming back.
Chad made me high kick for his mom on the beach last week. I'm not quite sure why, but he wanted her to see it. So I got up and, in my bikini and cover-up, I did three high kicks. IT. HURT. But man. I can still do it.
