I'm very preoccupied today, thinking, thinking, thinking. Recently, our church did a multi-week series called Toxic, and it was over identifying and eliminating toxic influences in your life. These influences could be things that make you have impure thoughts or desires, things that make you believe lies about yourself or relationships that damage you.
These are the questions running through my mind today: Is it okay to feel really angry at someone? And when you're angry and feel forced to respond, how do you know your response isn't sin? Or are we supposed to forgive and never address the wrongdoing first?
Proverbs 4:23 says "Above all else, guard your heart, because it is the wellspring of life."
Thinking about that today.

Hey Deb! I just started a blog so I hope this posts to your comments haha. I have been thinking about the toxic relationships lately too. Sometimes even when you have known someone forever, that still isn't worth all the drama etc...
Hope your doing well!!
Hi Jen! I'm enjoying your blog and reading all about the preparations for Baby Boy Robertson! I've got you on my blog roll. Hope you are well too!
I've come to think of sin as anything that doesn't fall under the general guidelines Jesus gave us, which is to love God, love ourselves, and love others. If letting someone know that they hurt you (which is what anger arises from) is an act of loving yourself, it's definitely not a sin. Yelling at someone because they hurt you? Probably is.
